Scary Contact Lenses
Contact lenses come in all kinds of colors and designs that are especially popular around Halloween. They can take your costume to the next level, or add a fun, crazy, design. But did you know that many decorative contact lenses can be very dangerous to your eyes.
From the American Optometric Association:
- All contact lenses are medical devices that require a doctor’s prescription before getting inserted into your eyes
- Many unapproved or counterfit contact lenses tested positive for common bacterial contamination that have been linked to serious eye infections and vision loss
Be safe with contacts:
- Get a comprehensive eye exam
- Check your prescription
- No unverified contacts
- Never share contacts
- Never sleep in contacts
